MAY 11, 2020: Stop bitching and do something good
I got out of bed early on Saturday morning to go donate blood. Even though I’ve donated many times in the past, given the unknowns of the Coronavirus, this was a scary experience for me. But the need for blood doesn’t go away just because there’s a pandemic.
While I was sitting there with a huge needle in my vein, I thought about the idiots I’ve been seeing on the news lately, protesting at state capitals in their army dress up outfits and their confederate flags, complaining about getting a stupid haircut that they would probably just cover up with a MAGA hat anyway.
You want to do something for America? Get your punk ass out of bed and go down to the Red Cross and donate. Start a neighborhood food pantry. Donate protective equipment to front line workers.
People are dying. People are going hungry. Doing something positive is one universal way to help make this thing better for ourselves and for everyone living through this time.
